Scissors cuts

With the scissors cut, steel sheets of different sizes and grades can be mechanically separated. Soft grades can be sheared up to a thickness of 20 mm and a length of 6000 mm. Scissor cutting is a very economical cutting process, especially when cutting rectangular shaped parts without holes or recesses. The advantage compared to the thermal process lies above all in the precision of the cut. The cut is very sharp-edged and clean – without temperature-related hardening.

The cutting process itself is simple: the sheet to be processed is positioned in the cutting system. Then knives slide past each other and separate the workpiece.
